Recyclable containerboard vs. a reusable alternative: comparing fresh produce packaging

When it comes to environmental impact, how can fresh produce brand owners verify that their choice of packaging material is the most sustainable? 

We wanted to understand the impact of our containerboard when used in corrugated packaging to package and transport fresh produce, so we conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to assess the material’s performance. Across three case studies, we compared recycled corrugated containerboard packaging to plastic alternatives including a reusable, foldable plastic crate.
