Stora Enso, the Renewable Materials Company, surveyed US consumers about sustainable packaging

What packaging is made of determines its sustainability. For sustainable packaging to get into the hands of consumers, brand owners need reliable information about what consumers want in food packaging.

To keep our finger on the pulse of North America and to support brand owners in their creation of sustainable packaging, we surveyed US consumers on food packaging sustainability to learn:

•    How much do US consumers think about sustainable packaging? 
•    What do consumers think about packaging materials like carton board and plastic?
•    Do they understand how to dispose of the packaging correctly after use? 
•    Are brand owners doing enough to make progress toward sustainable packaging?
•    How can brand owners act on these insights?

Stora Enso’s Packing Materials division surveyed over 7,000 consumers in nine states to learn more about what drives their purchasing decisions, their recycling habits, and what they expect from brand owners regarding sustainable packaging.
