Livestream session @COP26: “How can construction contribute to solving the climate crisis?”
The construction industry is responsible for 38%* of energy-related global CO2 emissions. If it were a country, it would be the third biggest emitter after China and the USA.
With a global growing demand in housing, megatrends such as urbanization and fast construction are in focus. At the same time, this requires solutions that are not only fast to build, but also sustainable and can provide a healthy environment for the people.
So we are at a tipping point in history. Construction has not seen a structural change since the industrial revolution. But today we have the chance to make a difference.
HOW?
This is what our high-level panel will discuss at the UN Climate Conference COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, on November 11, 2021 at 14.30 – 15.30h GMT. They will discuss what is necessary to do now and what the solutions look like today and in the future.
We cordially invite you to listen into the discussion and participate in the Q&A section. Our guests on the podium will be:
- CEO World Green Building Council, Cristina Gamboa
- CEO WEB Limited Group & Chair of African Regional Network, Elizabeth W Chege
- Google Senior Director Real Estate, Joe Van Belleghem
- CEO Lendlease Europe, Neil Martin
- CEO Stora Enso Wood Products, Lars Voelkel
This talk is hosted by Stora Enso Wood Products and will be moderated by Claire O’Neill, MD World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
